Walk-In Cooler & Freezer Repair in Central Arkansas

Commercial walk-in cooler interior

Repair, installation, maintenance and emergency service for walk-in coolers and freezers — Little Rock, North Little Rock, Conway and across central Arkansas since 1976.

When a walk-in goes down, the clock starts

Nothing in a commercial kitchen or store costs you money faster than a walk-in that stops holding temperature. A cooler drifting from 38°F to 50°F overnight can write off thousands of dollars of product before anyone opens the door in the morning, and a freezer that quits does it faster.

Commercial Service Company has repaired walk-ins across central Arkansas since 1976. We answer 24 hours a day, and our trucks carry the parts that fail most often — fan motors, thermostats, door gaskets, contactors and defrost controls — so a large share of calls are finished on the first visit rather than waiting on a supplier.

Walk-in repairs we handle

  • Unit not holding temperature, or slowly drifting warm
  • Ice and frost building up on the evaporator, ceiling or floor
  • Compressor short-cycling, running constantly, or failing to start
  • Refrigerant leaks and low charge
  • Fan motor, evaporator and condenser faults
  • Defrost timer, thermostat and control board problems
  • Door gaskets, hinges, closers, sweeps and latches
  • Condensate drain lines that back up or freeze

The two things that cause most walk-in failures

After fifty years the pattern is consistent, and both causes are cheap to stay ahead of.

Dirty condenser coils. A coil packed with dust and grease makes the compressor work far harder than it was designed to, which raises your power bill for months and then fails the compressor entirely. Cleaning it is routine maintenance.

Worn door gaskets. A gasket that no longer seals lets warm, humid air in continuously. That shows up first as frost on the evaporator, then as a unit that runs non-stop and still cannot hold temperature. A gasket costs a fraction of the compressor it eventually kills.

If your walk-in is icing up or running constantly, check those two before anything else — and if it is neither, call us.

Walk-in installation and replacement

We install new walk-in coolers and freezers, replace failed condensing units and evaporators, and retrofit existing boxes with new refrigeration. If a unit is genuinely at the end of its life we will say so plainly, with the numbers, rather than sell you a fourth repair on the same equipment.

Where a replacement makes sense we will size it to your actual load — not the load the previous owner had — and handle the electrical side as well, since we are a commercial electrical contractor too. One company, one call, one invoice.

Preventative maintenance for walk-ins

Most of the walk-in emergencies we run were avoidable. A scheduled visit covers coil cleaning, gasket inspection and replacement, drain line clearing, refrigerant charge check, defrost cycle verification and a temperature log review. We build the schedule around your quiet hours so the work happens when the kitchen is empty.

Who we do this for

Restaurants, groceries and convenience stores, schools, churches, hospitals and clinics, hotels, bars, florists, caterers and food distributors — anywhere with a box that has to stay cold.
